DELS Limited Liability Company (DELS), a Ukraine-based renewable energy company, together with its affiliated company Interenergie, is actively expanding its presence in the energy storage sector and supporting the transition toward a more flexible and resilient power system. The company is currently participating in the development of a battery energy storage project designed for peak shaving and photovoltaic energy integration.
The project has a capacity of 4 MW / 10 MWh. It has secured commercial bank financing from JSC PrivatBank and is scheduled to begin construction in November 2026.
With the rapid growth of energy security needs and renewable energy generation, energy storage is becoming a critical component of Ukraine’s future energy infrastructure. As the country increases its renewable energy capacity, the demand for battery storage solutions is expected to accelerate. Energy storage will play an essential role in balancing intermittent renewable generation, improving grid stability, supporting ancillary services, and enabling more efficient utilization of clean energy resources.
DELS recognizes the significant market potential of energy storage in Ukraine and is developing a long-term strategy to become a key player in the regional energy transition. The company aims to combine renewable energy development with advanced battery storage technologies to provide reliable and flexible energy solutions for businesses, grid operators, and communities.
Against the unique operational challenges facing Ukraine’s power grid, this project will build distributed emergency power supply nodes. It enables millisecond-level rapid response during extreme weather, sudden grid outages, and other abnormal scenarios, delivering continuous and stable emergency power support for critical public facilities and residential communities. The system fills the power supply gap during traditional grid repair windows, drastically reducing the impact of blackouts on essential public services, daily life, and critical social operations.
As Ukraine’s local solar installed capacity continues to rise, surplus daytime photovoltaic generation has led to increasingly prominent curtailment issues. This energy storage project can efficiently absorb excess solar power, significantly boosting the on-site utilization of clean energy and reducing renewable energy waste. Meanwhile, its peak-shaving and valley-filling function helps flatten peak grid loads, eases pressure caused by insufficient conventional peak-regulation resources, lowers overall grid operating costs, and supports a more flexible balance between power supply and demand.
DELS will continue to deepen its presence in Ukraine and the Central and Eastern European energy storage markets. More “PV + Storage” integrated projects will be rolled out in subsequent phases to streamline the full chain of renewable power generation, storage, and consumption, supporting Ukraine’s smooth transition to a high-renewable-energy power system and establishing DELS as a key contributor to the regional energy transition.
